大蕉球早餐 Plantain Ball
在南美洲北部,人們很喜歡吃大蕉(plantain)。
大蕉是香蕉的人工培育種,外皮很黑、長得很醜,好像壞掉該丟掉的長型香蕉。不直接生吃,需要經過烤、炸、煎,算是家常小點。
這家早餐店最出名的就是以大蕉泥、香脆培根、及起司揉成的這樣一個球;而因為單吃可能會有點乾,配上半熟水煮蛋的蛋黃,噢~奢侈的平價美味。
飲料的部分我們除了點照片上的水果優格,另外的現打果汁也是非常新鮮好喝。

In the north area of South America, cooking plantain is a very popular snack.
Plantain is one of the cultivated varieties of the genus Musa whose fruit is intended to be consumed only after cooking or other processing, rather than being eaten raw.
The breakfast shop is famous for the balls, which is mixed with fried crushed plantain, roasted pork and cheese. Plus a soft-boiled egg to make it taste smooth. Hmm~ Yummy indeed.
We also ordered a fruit yogurt and fresh juice to enrich our late breakfast.
Next time when you visit Ecuador, don't miss the plantain!
